If you are visiting Singapore with kids there is one place you really must visit – Sentosa Island! The island is awash with things to do and also offers a plethora of family friendly accommodation. For our very first night on Sentosa Island we stayed at the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa and our stay was nothing short of fantastic. The hotel is brilliant and an ideal place for families looking for a bit of indulgence while keeping the kids happy and entertained.
One of only a few hotels on Sentosa Island to sit directly on the South China Sea, the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa boasts a contemporary French inspired theme and is set out on over 27 acres of tropical woodlands.
With 215 sophisticated rooms and suites including 4 private luxury villas, there is an accommodation option to suit everyone. Each room comes with air-conditioning, wi-fi, LED Smart TV, bathroom with separate bath and shower and Illy Coffee & TWG Tea station.
Being the large family that we are, we had two spacious interconnecting rooms – a Prestige Suite and a Luxury Room. The 64sqm Prestige Suite included a bedroom with King Size Bed, ensuite with separate bath and rainshower, as well as a luxurious living room. The 36sqm Luxury Room included 2 single beds, ensuite with separate bath and rainshower and the option of an additional rollaway bed. Both rooms were impeccably clean and wonderfully spacious. Even with the promise of so much to see and do both on and off the premises, the rooms were so generous and comfortable, our kids were more than happy to just hang out in them while the effects of jet-lag wore off!
Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa boasts 4 separate restaurants and bars offering a cosmopolitan variety of French inspired cuisine as well as Asian, Western and European favourites.
This Parisian-brasserie inspired restaurant features elaborate buffets with an extensive selection of French, Asian and Western cuisine. It is here that we enjoyed an extravagant breakfast buffet, complete with kids buffet and more exquisite breakfast options than one can imagine. With so many stations and options, we literally didn’t know where to begin, and it’s fair to say that we all left with extremely full, satisfied bellies! On a Sunday, visitors flock here for the popular Magnifique Sunday Champagne Brunch where they can enjoy a lavish feast paired with free flow Tattinger Champagne. Kwee Zeen also boasts it’s very own chocolaterie offering the most mouth-watering, sumptious delicacies any chocoholic can dream of. You absolutely cannot come here and not try their chocolate macaron – by far the best I have ever had!
Overlooking tranquil gardens and the resorts luxury pool, LeBar offers an open-air, relaxed setting where guests can enjoy cocktails, canapes and the exquisite Afternoon Tea à l Française. The Afternoon Tea à la Française is a lavish and sumptuous high tea – an absolute treat not to be missed. Served in the most exquisite Eiffel Tower music box, it comprises a selection of gourmet sandwiches, scones, and decadent cakes and pastries and comes with your choice of designer teas. Too good to share with the kids? Definitely! But not to worry, LeBar also offers a ‘Little Royal Afternoon Tea’ – a high tea designed especially for your little royals! Our children found this absolutely wonderful and happily devoured the selection of sweet and savoury treats in record time!

The 33metre swimming pool is set amongst beautiful gardens overlooking the South China Sea. The relaxed and sophisticated setting is the perfect place to unwind, have a drink by the pool and let the kids do what they do best – burn off some energy! Our kids absolutely loved this pool and I have no doubt would have happily stayed in it all day had we let them.
This elegant spa pond is full of tiny little fish who love nothing more than to nibble on your feet! If you can get over the initial shock of these little critters tickling you like crazy, it is such a fun and strangely relaxing experience and one I would highly recommend trying.

The overall service that we experienced during our stay was nothing short of wonderful. The staff were all so friendly, happy and accommodating and nothing was too much for them. From showing us around the grounds, organising transport and even offering us a late check-out, everything was done with genuine pleasure and that warm hospitality that makes any stay that little bit more special.
