It’s not often that you come across a hotel that ticks ALL your boxes. Especially one that not only ticks all your boxes, but comes up with it’s own set of boxes and ticks all those too! Even with the nicest, fanciest, most luxurious hotels, there’s always something you can find fault with. Even if it’s just little, picky things, there are no hotels that are ever completely perfect. Or are there? The St.Regis Singapore may just very well be!

St. Regis Singapore review

A five star hotel with kids? Yes! Why not! You wouldn’t necessarily naturally associate a five star hotel with kids for many reasons. I mean really, would they even enjoy it? Would you? Wouldn’t they find it a little boring? A little stoic? A little too “don’t touch that/don’t go there/be quiet!”? Well no. Not at St. Regis Singapore anyway! In fact, St. Regis Singapore not only cater to children, but they have created their own family experience packages tailored to their littlest of guests and their families – ‘Family Traditions at The St. Regis Singapore’.

Family Traditions at The St. Regis Singapore

Family Traditions at The St. Regis Singapore‘ celebrates the art of play and the pursuit of fun! From a welcome, age appropriate gift bag for each child,  a supply of baby products awaiting you in  your room and a personal butler service, the team at St. Regis have thoughtfully designed these packages to excite and delight even the fussiest of little guests.

Welcome Gift Bag

As I sat down to check-in (yes, sat  in a comfy armchair – such a nice and welcome change to standing at a desk), each of the children were presented with a lovely little draw-string carry bag. Inside each were a selection of gifts based on the children’s ages, including teddy bears, board games, reading books, colouring sets, drink bottles and caps.

Treats and Supplies

Awaiting us in our rooms were a selection of sweet treats, paired minutes later with some hot chocolate and cookies brought to us by our butler. “Mum can you call the butler and ask for more hot chocolate?” was a sentence I heard regularly over the next few days…… In the room which was set up with a baby cot, we found a supply of baby wipes, soaps and lotions. We were also informed there were strollers and nappies available upon request.

Treasured Family Experiences

At an additional charge, you can add an experience to your Family Traditions package in the form of a Universal Studios adventure or a Nature Tour of the Botanic Gardens including picnic lunch. Both include return transfers.

For larger families like ours, St. Regis Singapore also offer a special family discount on a second room at 25% off.

In the heart of Singapore’s boutique shopping district, The St. Regis Singapore is located mere minutes from the famous Orchard Road. It is also just a stone’s throw from first-class shopping, the UNESCO World Heritage listed  Singapore Botanic Gardens and a multitude of exquisite restaurants and bars.

The entrance to St. Regis Singapore is everything and more that you would expect with a 5 star hotel. Elegant and charming, boasting high ceilings and awash with natural light. The lobby is bright and spacious and check-in itself is a luxury with comfy armchairs and genuinely warm and accommodating staff.

The St. Regis Singapore offers a total of 299 rooms including 37 suites. The rooms range in size from 50-56sqm and the suites from 70-135sqm, with the Presidential Suite boasting an elaborate 335sqm of pure luxury.

Our rooms

We stayed in two adjoining Grand Deluxe rooms. At a spacious 52sqm each, this was more than enough room for our large family. The children’s room contained two double beds and also had a rollaway bed set up. Our room had a wonderfully comfortable king size bed as well as a cot provided for our infant. Each room included a work desk, couch and sitting area and gorgeous, expansive marble bathroom. Built in to the mirror at the foot of the freestanding bath in the centre of the bathroom, is a TV. And yes, I did indulge in a bath, complete with bath salts, while watching TV!

With 6 separate restaurants and bars, each specialising in a different cuisine, guests of St. Regis Singapore are quite literally spoilt for choice.

Brasserie Les Saveurs

With a contemporary French menu, the elegant and spacious Brasserie Les Saveurs boasts floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking tranquil gardens and a gorgeous swimming pool. Lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are served daily as well as an extravagant and exquisite buffet breakfast each morning. The breakfast was divine. Top quality and The restaurant seats up to 90 guests and includes two private alcoves for a more intimate dining experience.

LeBrezza is the epitome of gourmet Italian dining. We attended Sunday Brunch at LaBrezza and were blown away by the unique and innovative menu and the delectable flavour and overall quality of everything we sampled. Honestly, the food was probably better than any that we had during our time in Italy. And that’s saying something! Even the children’s meals were fantastic. And the dessert. Belissimo! There was even a fairy floss/cotton candy machine. The kids could barely contain themselves! Every so often I would look up from my meal and see the head chef looking out into the dining room, intently watching the goings-on, clearly passionate about his work.

St. Regis Singapore’s other dining options include: Yan Ting – a Cantonese restaurant serving lunch and dinner as well as Dim Sum Brunch on weekends; Shinji B Kanesaka – a Japanese restaurant specialising in sushi; The Drawing Room – offering a selection of indulgent cakes, pastries and snacks as well as an extensive drinks menu; and Astor Bar – a contemporary and elegant bar serving a variety of stylish cocktails, drinks and light snacks.

Tropical Spa Pool

This luxurious pool, while not huge, is perfect for an afternoon splash, some revitalising laps or simply as a relaxing setting to enjoy a cocktail or three. A classy and serene oasis of tropical plants and fountains, sitting  nestled beneath the Singapore city skyline.

Remède Spa

With a staff of renowned therapists and technicians, Remède Spa is the epitome of relaxation and indulgence. Offering an extensive selection of bespoke treatments, coupled with top quality products, a visit to Remède Spa is a must for any weary traveller.

Indoor Tennis Court

If relaxation is not quite your style, St. Regis Singapore boasts a full size tennis court complete with high ceilings and asphalt surface. Tennis anyone?

Fitness Centre

The fully equipped gym has a wide range of equipment including treadmills individually fitted with tv’s and cardiovascular monitors. Custom personal training is available at an additional fee.

Business Centre

From secretarial and translation services, to binding and copying, the 24 hour business centre offers guest the opportunity to take care of all things business related, any time of the day or night.

Additional Services

Additional services on offer include baby-sitting and childcare, computer and phone rental, currency exchange, film rental and dry cleaning.

Our Final Verdict

It is clear from the moment that you enter the front doors, that St. Regis Singapore strive to offer an experience to remember. The service, the accommodation, the food and the amenites are all of the highest of quality and in my eyes, faultless. I feel at times when travelling, especially when in places of a similar class and standard to St. Regis, our children are sometimes looked down upon by staff. Even when behaving remarkably well, I get the feeling they are seen as somewhat of an annoyance or distraction. Well, not here. Quite the opposite in fact! Every member of staff that we encountered, from the concierge to the restaurant staff, treated our children with as much respect and importance as any other guest in the hotel. A reflection that ‘Family Traditions at The St. Regis Singapore’ really is something that this luxury hotel can pride itself on.

For anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in the heart of an incredible city, you really cannot go past St. Regis Singapore.
